Cruising and Chartering in Belize

Tucked between Mexico and Guatemala, Belize is the ultimate cruising experience. It is the mecca for the yachtsmen and Garden of Eden for the water sports enthusiast. Warm, emerald waters, gentle trade winds, protected anchorages and unsurpassed diving on the hemisphere's largest barrier reef translate into adventure experience you won't soon forget.
Belize is for cruising, as cruising should be. The famed barrier reef stretches almos 185 miles from north to south along the county's coastline. Full of unexplored territory, uninhabited cayes and intriguing little islands fringes with sugar-like sand beaches, the list of attributes is as ling as the barrier reef. It's simple a paradise found for boaters. Chartering a cruising sailboat is best of those who want to discover new places. No worries about taking the kids, who can explore tropical islands and can snorkel and fish along the reef.

The barrier reef creates the breakwater for inner channel. Coral formations flourish with marine life and natural beauty along the reef. More than 70 types of coral and over 400 species of fish call these waters home. Rare birds soar above the surface amid the tropical nirvana. East of the reef are magnificent atolls and tempting anchorages from Ambergris Caye heading south to the Sapodilla Cayes. Belize is blessed of having three of the four atolls in the Americas. Turneffe Islands Atoll is the jewel-like string of coral islands reminiscent of the south pacific. Farther seaward, Lighthouse Reef Atoll is noted for the renowned Blue Hole and Half Moon Caye Natural Monument with its trails and bird observation tower. Glover's reef, the third atoll is located southeast of Turneffe.
Charter companies in Belize City, Ambergris Caye and Placencia provide crewed and bareboat charters. Crewed charters offer the convenience of a captain and crew while self-sufficient passengers navigate the boat themselves on bareboat charters. Bareboat chartering is only allowed inside the reef. Local skippers can be hired for venturing inside and outside atolls. Snorkelers will find a myriad of lovely places to explore. Remember to be cautious. Never snorkel where there is a boat activity in the channel.

Mexico Pacific by Cruise Ixtapa Vallarta Acapulco Manzanillo

Mexican Pacific by Cruise, come aboard,
Pullmantur will start sailing from Acapulco on May 10 with a 47,000-ton vessel called the Pacific Dream, Cruise Industry News has learned.

The ship will carry 1,900 passengers, which will in turn bring nearly 60,000 passengers to the port in 2009. The Dream will be doing approximately 30 sailings between May and December.
As for specifically what ship the Pacific Dream is, both Pullmantur's Sky Wonder and Island Star are roughly the same tonnage and passenger capacity (based on maximum capacity) as the Pacific Dream, and their itinerary plans have yet to be officially announced.
The seven-day Acapulco cruises will begin in late June, and call at Ixtapa (Zihuatanejo), Manzanillo (where she will also embark passengers), Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo San Lucas. There will be nearly 50 cruises through May 2010.

Troncones, La Barra de Potosí, Ixtapa & Zihuatanejo, Mexico are located on La Costa Grande of the state of Guerrero fronting the Pacific Ocean about 240 kilometers (144 miles) northwest of Acapulco. Both Acapulco and Morelia are about 4 hours driving time from Zihuatanejo.
Zihuatanejo is the actual town with family-run guest inns, luxury boutique hotels, condominiums, and vacation lodgings that overlook the bay and beaches as well as the homes, neighborhoods, apartments, stores, shops, and businesses that make up its thriving community.

Ixtapa is a government-planned vacation resort area. The hotels and condominiums in Ixtapa along the main beach are mostly high-rises. Lovely luxury homes, condominiums and vacation accommodations set in quiet neighborhoods also surround the golf courses and the marina as well as the hillsides and smaller beaches.
Troncones is a small beachfront community of fishermen and farmers with many beachfront vacation homes, bungalows and guest inns located about 37 kilometers (22 miles) to the north.
Barra de Potosí, Playa Larga and Playa Blanca form a 15-kilometer (9 miles) stretch of beach to the south of Zihuatanejo, Mexico near the Aeropuerto Internacional de Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa.
The entire region makes up one of the most beautiful beach resort areas in the world. Diverse, peaceful and secluded. Enjoy the Mexico's culture and her people.
