Puerto Morelos is located between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. With less than 10.000 inhabitants it is considered the gateway to the Mayan Riviera.

The symbol of Puerto Morelos is an old, leaning lighthouse that was affected by powerful Hurricane Beula in 1967.
