The Carnival, held in February, has become a tradition for the past century and is a very colorful celebration, as locals use to preserve their ancient traditions. The “Cathedral Fiesta” or “the Holy Cross Fiesta” takes place the first days of May in the village of El Cedral; during this celebration there is an Agricultural fair, where many inhabitants of the Yucatán Península converge in the same place, and people can see regional dances such as “The head of the Pork”, and “The ribbons”.
